Functional Primary Care · Redding & Weaverville, CAFunctional Medicine addresses the root cause of disease, using a systems-oriented, patient-focused model, and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.
Rather than chasing an isolated set of symptoms ("name it, blame it and tame it — with pharmaceuticals"), Functional Medicine providers address the whole person and the root causes of your symptoms. We spend time with our patients by taking a comprehensive history, and evaluate the relationships between all factors that influence your health and well-being.
No, we are Functional Medicine Specialists and cannot be your primary care provider. We require you to have a primary care provider for acute and general care. As consultants, we do not provide urgent or same-day care.
No, we do not accept insurance, including Medi-Cal or Medicare, and we do not provide superbill invoices for reimbursement.
Insurance typically limits the scope of care and testing, and often does not cover the comprehensive, root-cause approach we take in functional medicine. By working outside of insurance, we're able to focus entirely on what's best for your health without restrictions, delays, or hidden fees. Our pricing is fully transparent, and you can choose care that supports your long-term wellness goals without navigating insurance red tape.
If you have a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), those funds may be used toward your care.
During the initial assessment, we'll review your past medical history and any previous lab tests, so we can see the connections between your symptoms and your life experiences and exposures, and begin to see what's impacting your health and wellbeing. We'll also get you started with lab testing which can include comprehensive functional labs to evaluate neuroendocrine, GI and detoxification system markers.
We will focus on supporting your adrenal glands, balancing cortisol and DHEA, replenishing nutrients, repairing gut function, and restoring cellular energy production. Food is medicine and will be a focus of our treatment along with targeted botanical and nutraceutical supplements if needed based on lab testing and your symptoms.
Yes, absolutely! Functional medicine services, including consultations, diagnostic testing, and prescribed supplements, are generally eligible for reimbursement through your FSA or HSA.
To ensure smooth reimbursement, keep detailed receipts for all services and check with your specific FSA/HSA provider for their individual requirements. We are happy to provide any necessary documentation to support your reimbursement claims.
Book an appointment and we'll walk through everything together — no pressure, just answers.
